Happy Halloween!! This is such a fun time especially for the kids, but candies and sugary treats are floating around everywhere, and the sugar temptation is huge! It's once a year, so enjoy this funky spooky holiday... but make this year a HEALTHIER one - for both you and your family.
It CAN be done with just a bit more AWARENESS.
In light of this holiday, I'm sharing some resourceful info (including tips from some of my favorite blogs) to help make you more aware and provide healthier options (plus tips on how to support your body if you do eat a bit too much sugar!):
1. Worst Halloween candies to avoid
2. A few better alternatives / healthier Halloween treat options:
Vegan chocolate muffins - one of my most popular recipes :)
Vegan snickers bars (this recipe is easy and DELICIOUS)
Peanut butter cups or Almond butter cups (a healthier Reeses' cup replacement)
Quinoa crispy treats (healthier version of Rice Crispy Treats)
... all of which you can have the kids decorate for Halloween!
3. A reminder on the Benefits of Chocolate (dark, preferably organic) so you can feel relaxed about enjoying one of my healthier options above ;). Note: If you’re in Nicaragua, we sell 70%, 85% 90% and even 100% dark chocolate (ALL ORGANIC) in Balance Market.
4. If we do end up having a bit too much sugar,..
Try my One Day Reset that will help you "detox" after a sugary-Halloween

Lastly, start incorporating these Blood Sugar Balance tips into your day to day to avoid glucose spikes –especially during Halloween or any time that you’re enjoying some sugar
Please enjoy this weekend, but do take care of your body, as it's more important than ever. Not to mention the holidays are around the corner!
Remember excess sugar is terrible for your gut, yoru hormones, your immune system and we need our immunity in tip-top shape during the holidays! (And on that topic.... here is one more blog in Spanish on some of my best tips to boost your immunity!)
Love and a Healthy Halloween to you and your family,
